A Beautiful Grade II Listed building located in the heart of Wellingborough town center, the building is complimented by the bustling town atmosphere and the local presence.

The Hind was built in Jacobean style by Lord Hatton in the 17th century and the hind passant d’or was the Hatton Crest.

An earlier building on the site probably provided hospitality and a refuge to the visitors to the Abbey.

There is evidence that Oliver Cromwell slept here before the Battle of Naseby during the Civil War, and the priest hole in the Cromwell Suite is another reminder of less peaceful times.

Nevertheless, whatever the state of the country, The Hind has looked after it’s guests for more than 300 years. We look forward to welcoming you to our hotel.
