New Hotel Owner Announced

I am pleased to confirm that the Hind Hotel is finally under new ownership. My company has been running the business since March but, after much legal manoeuvring to remove the previous incumbent, the purchase was completed on 2nd November. I hope that some of the changes behind the scenes over this period have been viewed positively, and I assure you that we were not sitting on our laurels whilst the lawyers did their thing.

I know the people of the town are concerned that the hotel should be restored to its rightful place at the centre of the life of Wellingborough and the local business community. I want to assure you that we are well progressed with plans to undertake major restoration works to the building (with much support from BCW and the Heritage Lottery Commission). Likewise we are independently starting refurbishment works to bedrooms, and hope to put proposals for the improvement of the bar and public spaces before the Conservation and Planning departments shortly.

I know that the Hind has seen false dawns a-plenty. Be assured that this will not be one of them – not least because we have the funding in place to undertake the required works.

As plans are available we will publish them to this forum for those interested to peruse. Rest assured we will ensure that we retain the character and feel that so many people have enjoyed over the years, but hopefully add a new twist and sense of purpose to the old lady.

I will be scouring this forum for old photos of The Hind. If anyone has noteworthy memorabilia I would be delighted to hear of it.

Enjoy the festive season and we will be back with more news in the New Year!

Wonderful news! It is such a beautiful building, so it’s fantastic to hear that it’s going to be restored and retain its charming character. I would like to write an article on this amazing building.
